Your First Visit

Schedule your appointment and complete intake form

All massages are scheduled by appointment only.  Appointments can be made by email, telephone or online by clicking the “Book a Massage” link.  We ask that you show up 10-15 minutes before your first appointment to allow time to fill out an intake form.  The intake form will ask you basic questions about your medical history, past/present injuries, and any other physical conditions you may have.

Begin your personalized & therapeutic session

After completing your paperwork you will meet your massage therapist.  She will take you into the treatment room where a comfortable massage table dressed with clean sheets and warm blankets awaits you.  You will then have a brief discussion with your massage therapist about your medical history, injuries and physical conditions.  At that time you will be asked what your expectations are for your massage and about the specific areas of your body in which you are feeling pain, stress and/or tension.  This is a great time to inform your therapist if there is a specific part of your body that you don’t like massaged (for instance if your feet are ticklish or you don’t want massage oil in your hair) or if there is a particular part of your body that would like extra attention (like feet, head or hands).  After all areas of concern are addressed your therapist will ask you to undress to the point you are comfortable and then leave the room.  (The level at which you disrobe is completely up to you, your level of modesty will be respected.  Please keep in mind you will be covered with the sheet the entire time, your therapist will only uncover the specific part of your body that she is working on at that time.)  After disrobing, you will lie down on the massage table and cover up completely with the top sheet.  Once you are comfortable on the massage table the therapist will knock on the door and ask if you are ready before entering the room.

Your session

Your massage session will be tailored to fit your needs and expectations.  It is completely up to you if you want a full body relaxing massage, an intense deep tissue trigger point focused session, or a combination.  The level of pressure is also completely up to you.  You do not need to be in pain or discomfort for a massage to be therapeutic and effective.  Your therapist will ask you questions regarding the level of pressure or if something is comfortable/uncomfortable.  Any feedback you have on the level of pressure, temperature of room or music choice is greatly appreciated.  This session is all about you and for you!  You are not expected to carry on a conversation during your session.  If you would like to have a conversation during your massage or if you would like to be quiet, it is entirely up to you, your therapist will follow your lead.

When your session is complete, the therapist will leave the room.  You will then slowly get off the table and re-dress.  Your therapist will meet you in the waiting room with a glass of water.  You will then discuss a wellness plan, book your next appointment and pay for your session.
